Darkness Into Light
Back in March a few of our staff decided to do fundraising for Pieta House linking in with their Darkness Into Light event. After researching Pieta house they were made aware that It costs approximately €1,000 to successfully bring one person through a full suite of therapy sessions and into the light, they decided to set this as their target.
Nolan Transport are proud to announce that not only did they reach their target, they exceeded it raising:
€1,255
After a few weeks of brainstorming, they decided on a few fundraising ideas that they believed would help reach their target. These fundraising events all finished on the the 6th of May, the day before the Darkness Into Light event
The Events Included:
Coin Jar
For loose change. With a guess the amount competition on the final day.
Raffle
A good old fashion monster raffle with great prizes donated by local businesses
Duck Race
This was our main event, an event seen in many local rural events. For this they needed a race track and some rubber ducks. They were able to source the rubber ducks online from overseas – they are ducks afterall! but for the track they enlisted one of our part-time carpenter staff members Kevin Fitzharris who exceeded everybody’s expectations with a superb state of the art Duck track J (No animals were harmed in this fundraiser)
There was a great atmosphere on the day of the race
Darkness Into Light
Not only did they have a busy day on Friday but they were up for a 4:15am start for the Darkness Into Light run/walk. The group participated in the event in both Enniscorthy and Kilkenny.
Prizes
The fundraising team called to many local businesses to ask for a donation of prizes for the events. They were overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness off all involved.
