All Ireland Hunter Trials 2013 - St Mary's New Ross

Held Saturday 16th March 2013,
Hosted by St. Mary's Secondary School,
New Ross, Co. Wexford.

Nolan Transport were glad to sponsor a few jumps at the All Ireland Hunter Trails. The event took place on Saturday the 16th of March in Moorefield, Ballinaboola on the grounds of the Wexford Hunt. They were blessed with dry sunny conditions that made the event all the more enjoyable.

Back in March a few of our staff decided to do fundraising for Pieta House  linking in with their Darkness Into Light event. After researching Pieta house they were made aware that It costs approximately €1,000 to successfully bring one person through a full suite of therapy sessions and into the light, they decided to set this as their target. Nolan Transport are proud to announce that not only did they reach their target, they exceeded it raising: €1,255 After a few weeks of brainstorming, they decided on a few fundraising ideas that they believed would help reach their target. With a guess the amount competition on the final day. Raffle A good old fashion monster raffle with great prizes donated by local businesses Duck Race This was our main event, an event seen in many local rural events.

Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA)

Changes taking place from January 2015 in relation to the European Union directive on Fuel Emission that all ferry operators operating in the Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA). The SECA zone includes English Channel and North Sea that we must travel though when moving your cargo going to/from Mainland Europe. The current maximum allowed Sulphur content in marine fuels is 1.0% and this will reduce to 0.1% within the Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA). Effectively this means that traditional heavy fuel oil used in freight ferries will be replaced with more refined fuel oil which is more expensive to purchase. All the various ferry operators within this area have slightly different but similar systems for calculating the SECA surcharges.
