Nolan Transport is now ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 Certified We would like to thank our compliance team (especially Allan and Kathleen) for all their hard work helping us achieve another two ISO certificates (to go along with our ISO 9001:2008)

IRU Accreditation - Safe Loading and Cargo Securing

We have now obtained IRU accreditation status in Safe Loading and Cargo Securing as per guidelines for the international safe load securing for road transport.  The HSA and the IRU have worked in conjunction with each other to draw up these guidelines for the safe movement and securing of loads for road transport throughout Europe.  We are the first transport company to achieve this status in Ireland and the UK  Well done to everyone involved for their hard work and effort in securing this accreditation.

Congratulations to Campile United for their 2-0 win on Sunday the 7th Campile United experienced their first victory of the season when central midfielder David Saridakis struck for two second-half goals.  

Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA)

Changes taking place from January 2015 in relation to the European Union directive on Fuel Emission that all ferry operators operating in the Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA). The SECA zone includes English Channel and North Sea that we must travel though when moving your cargo going to/from Mainland Europe. The current maximum allowed Sulphur content in marine fuels is 1.0% and this will reduce to 0.1% within the Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECA). Effectively this means that traditional heavy fuel oil used in freight ferries will be replaced with more refined fuel oil which is more expensive to purchase. All the various ferry operators within this area have slightly different but similar systems for calculating the SECA surcharges. We together have absolutely no control over this forced European taxation, The cost implications are unavoidable with a significant impact on current operating cost that we have to pass onto the customer.
